Peanut and oat snack balls

Snack balls make a great, bite sized, healthy snack for all occasions.

Peanut and oat snack balls

Method

  1. Combine the peanut butter, water, maple syrup and vanilla in a bowl and beat with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the rolled oats, seeds, and cinnamon and mix well to incorporate everything together.
  3. With clean, wet hands, roll heaped tablespoons of mixture into balls. Makes 15 balls.
  4. Place on a tray, cover and chill for at least 15 minutes. Store these in an airtight container in the fridge.

Tip

To make an oat flour, place rolled oats in a high-speed food processer and blend until the oats resemble a fine dust.

To make this a nut-free recipe, you can replace the peanut butter with tahini paste (which is made with sesame seeds).

To make this a gluten-free recipe, you can use ground sunflower seeds instead of oats. Check all other ingredients for gluten.

  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ½ cup rolled oats*, blended to a flour
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds or linseeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon*
