Frozen fruit slushies

These slushies are a cross between a drink and a dessert, children will love them and they're easy to make.  The serves stated below are suitable for one adult or two small children.

Method

Blend or process ingredients using a food processor, blender or stick blender until smooth.

 

Slushie tips

Keep some chopped up fruit in the freezer for when the slushie urge arises, if you have a selection children will love creating their own combinations.
All fruits work well in a slushie, however some exceptional slushie fruits are; watermelons, kiwifruit, berries, feijoas, pear, oranges.

Portions

Ensure portion sizes are appropriate for the age of the children. Serve half the amount for younger children or a smaller portion.

  • 1 1/2 cups fruit, chopped and frozen
  • 1/2 cup cold still or soda water
