Coriander roti

A flavour-packed bread that's easy to make and children will love.

Coriander roti

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, mix well and knead to make a semi-stiff smooth dough using enough water.
  2. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions, cover and keep aside for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the filling into 4 equal portions.
  4. Roll out a portion of the dough into a 10 cm diameter circle using a little wheat flour.
  5. Place a portion of the filling in the centre, fold the edges towards the centre and seal well so the filling doesn’t spill out.
  6. Roll out again into 10 cm diameter circle using a little wheat flour.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan and cook each roti, using 1 tsp oil, until golden brown spots appear on both the sides.

  • Dough
  • ½ cup wholemeal flour
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Filling
  • ¾ cup finely chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • ¼ cup finely chopped green chillies
  • Other Ingredients
  • Flour for rolling
  • 4 tsp vegetable oil for cooking
