Bircher Muesli

Start your day with this delicious and nutritious breakfast.

Bircher Muesli

Method

1. Drain the peaches and reserve the juice, chop the peaches into bite-size pieces.
2. Add the peaches, apple, pear, rolled oats, cinnamon and reserved peach juice into a bowl, mix to combine.  Fold through the yoghurt and almonds.
3. Allow to stand covered for an hour or overnight.
4. Spoon the muesli into individual bowls.  Serve topped with milk, banana and a drizzle of passionfruit pulp.

Portions

Ensure portion sizes are appropriate for the age of the children. Serve half the amount for younger children or a smaller portion.

You need

  • 400g peaches, in juice
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored and grated
  • 1 pear, peeled, cored and grated
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ tsp cinnamon, ground
  • 150g yoghurt, reduced fat natural
  • 50g almond flakes, toasted
  • 1 cup milk, reduced fat
  • 1 banana
  • 2 passion fruit, optional
